Nine from D Chess Academy earn FIDE ratings, including two coaches

Imphal, August 01 2025: Nine players from D Chess Academy, Imphal - including two coaches - have been awarded international ratings by the World Chess Federation (FIDE), according to the latest FIDE rating list released on Friday (August 1, 2025) .

The ratings were earned based on their performances in the 1st Assam University International Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2025, held at Assam University, Silchar, Assam, from June 28 to July 3, 2025 .

Only one player from the Academy secured a FIDE standard rating, while seven players obtained rapid ratings and all nine achieved blitz ratings.

Among the rated players, Maibam Yohenba Khuman earned a standard rating of 1606 and a blitz rating of 1605 .

Dayanand Thoudam was rated 1647 in rapid and 1618 in blitz, while Lemba Sougaijam scored 1609 in rapid and 1503 in blitz.

Jonex Nandeibam registered 1438 in rapid and 1480 in blitz, and Khuman Einstein Maibam achieved ratings of 1508 (rapid) and 1561 (blitz).

Williamba Moirangthem earned 1413 in rapid and 1532 in blitz, while Punsiba Maisnam received a rapid rating of 1437 .

The two coaches, Konjengbam Poireikhomba Meetei and Naoremcha Yohenba, also featured on the list with impressive ratings - 1820 (rapid) and 1879 (blitz) for the former, and 1729 (rapid) and 1690 (blitz) for the latter.

Meanwhile, D Chess Academy extended its heartfelt congratulations to all players and coaches for their achievements.
