Chandel league: KYC, ZSYC in final of Div I

Imphal, October 28 2024: Khongjon YC and Ziontiang SYC entered the final of the Chandel 1st Division League after beating their respective opponents with identical scores in the last four stage matches at Ziontlang ground on Monday.

In the first match, KYC edged past Japhou YC 3-2 with goals from Jupa in the 12th minute, Kenphasha (17th) and Kophadeem (64th), while JYC reduced the loss margin through Oliver's 41st minute penalty conversion and Renghong's 67th strike.

Meanwhile, ZSYC advanced to the summit round defeating SASA 3-2 riding on goals from MK Kampu (18th), MK Jefrey (27th) and PR Lungir (75th) as the opponents responded through D Robingam (49th) and D Wangtong (82nd) .

On the other hand, LH Shelpa netted a hat-trick (38th, 55th & 68th) as Lambung YCC rallied from a two-goal deficit in the first halt to eventually defeat Chumbang 4-3 in the Chandel Super League at the same venue on Monday.

Brace of goals from Rengchunghoi (13th & 26th) put CFC ahead, before LH Shelpa starred in the come-from-behind win for the Lambung side with three goals at regular intervals and HL Thalpingam (74th) extended the two-goal cushion.

Though Ahong scored CFC's third from the spot in the 83rd minute late, Lambung held on to their lead to collect maximum points.

In Chandel Second Division League, Mahamani YC defeated Japhou Bazar YC 5-3 via the penalty shootout on Monday to enter the semi-finals.

Belarhring (41st) opened the score for JBYC before MYC's Lenin (57th) restored parity.

In the tie-breaker, Puntharing, Lenin, Raymon and Hringtha of MYC outsmarted the opponent custodian to seal the semi-final berth 4-2 .
