United Chandel FC pulled off a hard-fought 3-2 win over Sagolband United, while YSWA and UDO shared the spoils in Saturday's clashes of the 2nd Premier League 2025-26.Sapam Malemnganba opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, slotting home after a swift counter-attack that left Sagolband's defence scrambling.
Just four minutes later, K Alex Lamkang doubled the lead with a composed finish, capitalising on a perfectly weighted through ball.
The onslaught continued as Thaokung Malchong Chothe made it 3-0 in the 38th minute, leaving Sagolband United shell-shocked before the break.
However, the second half saw a dramatic shift in momentum as Sagolband United launched a spirited comeback.
Their efforts were rewarded in the 62nd minute when Sapam Bishorjit Meitei converted a penalty.
Riding the wave of momentum, Bishorjit struck again in the 72nd minute, firing home from close range to set up a nervy finale.
Despite relentless pressure, United Chandel's defence held firm, denying Sagolband an equaliser and securing a crucial three points.
In the day's other fixture, YSWA and UDO played out an evenly matched contest that ended 1-1 .
After a goalless first half, UDO broke the deadlock in the 65th minute through Thongam Priyaball, who coolly dispatched a penalty following a clumsy challenge in the box.
As the match entered stoppage time, it seemed UDO would walk away with all three points.
However, Huirongbam Krishanakan-ta had other ideas, firing in a dramatic 92nd-minute equaliser to send the YSWA supporters into raptures.
The late goal ensured the points were shared, leaving both sides with mixed feelings at the final whistle.
