LMYVA pip ESU to claim State basketball boys' title

Imphal, October 27 2024: LMYVA overcame a tough challenge from ESU to capture the boys' event title at the 28th State Youth Basketball Championship 2024 on Sunday.

After trailing 5-10 in the first quarter, LMYVA bounced back strongly by dishing out a 13-6 performance in the second quarter.

However, LMYVA faltered in a keenly contest third quarter that saw them being edged 12-13 by ESU.

The game intensified in the fourth and final quarter, where LMYVA rose to the contest, ultimately securing a nail-biting 10-9 score to close out the game with a thrilling 40-38 victory over their opponents and get their hands on the winners' trophy.

Earlier on Friday, ESU recorded a commanding 42-21 win over YOSC in the final of the women's competition.
