PTCC, PCC, RULE have it easy, REYS win in MNCA Men's U-23 Tournament

PTCC (Patsoi Part III), PCC (Mayai Koibi) and RULE (Meitram) were easy winners while REYS (Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai) defeated IBSA by 19 runs in Friday's fixtures of the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament.
PTCC inflicted a 190-run thrashing on YPHUC in their league game at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Deciding to bat, PTCC posted a respectable 269/10 in their 40 overs courtesy of Dominic Moirangthem (52), Loukrakpam Anao Singh (47), Andy Mandingbam (39), Paonam Champion Singh (34), Moirangthem Gunggung Meitei (34) and Somobanta (17) .
PTCC then unleashed a fiery bowling attack spearheaded by Moirangthem Gunggung Meitei to bowl out YPHUC in 19.4 overs for a mere 79.Krishnakanta Ngangkham (15) was the only batter who could score in double digits in their dismal run chase.
Moirangthem Gunggung wreaked havoc on the YPHUC batting lineup, scalping six wickets, as Chingakham Nikhil Meetei chipped in with three wickets, and Loukrakpam Anao Singh took one to propel PTCC to an emphatic win over.
Earlier, Irom Ishor and Birbal Irom both claimed three wickets while Konsam Mangai Singh and Irom Sunny Singh got two each for YPHUC.
PCC, meanwhile, brushed aside THAU by six wickets at Model Hr.
Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
PCC bundled out THAU in 30.1 overs for 88 as Hanjabam Diamond (33) emerged as the lone performer in their innings.
A collective bowling display by PCC saw Mairem-bam Lucky Meitei grab three wickets while Takhelmayum Vikash, Lucky Thokchom and Pravin Kumar each took two.
In their response, PCC needed 18.5 overs to achieve the target with efforts from Takhelmayum Vikash (30 not out), Max Warokpam Meitei (26), Nongdamba Khunjamayum (14 not out), Lucky Thokchom (11) and Bobby Meitei Khangembam (10).In the process, both Bobby and Lucky Thokchom fell to Khumukcham Romesh Singh, while Max and Mairembam Lucky were dismissed by Rajkumar Thapa.
RULE thrashed ESU by 136 at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
The Meitram squad batted first and scored 205/8 with contributions from Jay Singh (50), Rajkumar Herachandra Singh (46), Boocker Kangjam (30), Manikhomba Meitei Sanjenbam (21) and Sunil Kumar (18 not out) .
RULE then stopped their opponents in 29 overs for 69 for their resounding victory.
Boocker Kangjam was the star bowler for RULE, finishing with remarkable figures of 6-20.Rojit Singh Angomcha did his bit with two wickets while Jay Singh and Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman contributed one apiece.
REYS, on the other hand, defeated IBSA by 19 runs in a low-scoring match at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, REYS were all out for 86 in 22.1 overs.
In the innings, only Yungkham Romario Roy (23) and Sapam Bikash Singh (11) reached double figures.
The bowling unit of REYS came to the rescue as Kiran Laishram shone with five scalps, Sapam Bikash impressed with four and Yungkham Romario Roy got one to help their team secure the victory.
Earlier, Rajababu and Nelson Keithellakpam both snapped four wickets each while Keithellakpam Edison and Boney Potshangbam took one each for IBSA.
