SKYC crowned Sawombung football tourney champions

Imphal, July 23 2025: SKYC (Kabui Khunjao) were crowned champions of the 18th Inter Sawombung Invitation Football Tournament 2025 following a 2-1 victory over INJC (Itam Nungoi) in the final at SSC Playground, Sawombung, on Wednesday.

SKYC controlled the first half with precision, as Long-mei Makuchung broke the deadlock in the 17th minute.

Teammate Langmei Pougang extended their lead just seven minutes later, finding the net in the 24th minute.

SKYC crowned Sawombung football tourney champion

INJC reduced the deficit in the 58th minute thanks to a goal from Haobam Lamjingba, but despite their efforts, SKYC held firm to secure the win.

With this victory, SKYC claimed the championship trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while runners-up INJC received Rs 30,000 .

The tournament's individual awards were claimed by Ahanthem Sonalish Singh (SSC, Player of the Tournament), Langmei Pougang (SKYC, Top Scorer), Satish Konjengbam (SSC, Best Goalkeeper), Golmei Lanchalung (SSYC, Best Defender), Kshetrimayum Langamba (INJC, Best Midfielder), and Langmei Poujai (SKYC, Player of the Final Match), and Joyson Ahanthem (SSC, joint Promising Players of the Tournament) .
