KASC, RCA to square off in MNCA Men's U-23 tourney final

Imphal, June 23 2024:
KASC (Khomidok) and RCA (Lilong) set up title clash of the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Tournament 2023-24, following their semifinal victories on Sunday.
KASC outplayed RULE by 54 runs in a low-scoring semifinal match played at Lairenjam Public Ground, here.
Deciding to bat, KASC struggled to cope with a disciplined bowling attack by their opponents and ended up making 122 after being dismissed in 31.1 overs.
Md Aqeel (30), Bm Irfan (24), Washim Akram (23) and Md Babu (12) were key contributors in their innings.
Rojit Singh Angomcha and Jay Singh did the damage with the ball for RULE, taking three wickets apiece.
Sanjenbam Ananda Singh picked up two while Boocker Kangjam and Zenith Nongmaithem bagged one each.
Despite their meek batting effort, KASC managed to rise to the contest owing to their stunning bowling display.
Md Aqeel, Bm Afsar and Fm Sharif all claimed three wickets to help KASC skittle out RULE for a mere 68 in 23.2 overs.
Md Rahis Khan also did his bit with one wicket in their win.
For RULE, Sanjenbam Suresh (31) was the lone bright in their run chase.
RCA, meanwhile, booked their place in the final with a 47-run victory over SCCC at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
RCA chose to bat and were all out for 209 in 38.3 overs.
Syed Hussain top-scored in their innings with 32, followed by Imran Khan (29), Aziz Mirza (28), Naesh Hussain (27), Zamir Khan (19), Md Danish Khan (12) and Md Safwan Ahamed (11).RCA then produced a brilliant bowling performance spearheaded by Aziz Mirza to end SCCC's run chase for 162 in 35 overs as Ankit Prasad's 62 went in vain.
Aziz Mirza shone with ball, scalping four wickets as Zamir Khan snapped two, with Iliyas and Naesh Hussain taking one each to propel their team to the final.
Earlier, Lishan Meitei Khaidem led the SCCC bowling with three wickets while Rex Waikhom, Bicky Kumar Das and Syed Hanif each took one.
