State Open Tennis Championship : Valeska vs Shelza in U-12 girls singles final

Imphal, December 22 2024: RK Valeska will face off against Asem Shelza in the U-12 girls singles title clash of the ongoing 43rd State Open Cash Prize Tennis Championship.

Valeska, who outlasted Mehreen Khan 8-1 yesterday in the first round, booked her place in the final with an 8-4 win over Y Gucci today at Officers' Club Tennis Complex, Lamphel.

Shelza meanwhile eased to an 8-2 win over RK Gracy in the other semi-final match to set up the final date with Valeska.

U-12 boys : Yoimayai vs Arnav in title clash

The final line up of the U-12 boys singles competition was also completed today with Irungbam Yoimayai and Arnav securing semi-final victories.

Yoimayai, who got the better of Dhruv Malik yesterday in a second round clash, eased to an 8-2 win over Dhanaraj in a semi-final clash today to book his final ticket.

Arnav, who got a first round bye, in the meantime pulled off an 8-1 win over Soham in a second round clash before sealing a hard fought 8-7 (6) win over Rancher in the semi-final match to complete the final line up.

Men's Singles : Stage set for semi-finals

The day also saw the completion of the semi-final line up of the men's singles competition.

Making it to the semi-finals were Brojendro, Padmeshwar, Becker and Premjit.

Brojendro reached the semi-finals with an easy 6-1, 6-1 win over Pahten Keisham today as Padmeshwar got a bye.

Becker meanwhile sealed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lanchenba in a second round clash to seal his semi-final berth before Premjit outlasted Nonginsana 6-0, 6-2 in another last-8 round clash.
