MNCA Men's U-23: MODEL, KASC, PTRC have it easy

MODEL, KASC and PTRC all had easy victories in the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament on Sunday.
Dibak Naorem shone with ball as MODEL thumped THAU by eight wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Dibak scalped five wickets to help MODEL bundle out THAU for a measly 55 in 15.2 overs.
Bisai Ningombam and Biyon Naorem also bowled well to claim two wickets apiece for the Singjamei Chingamakha squad.
MODEL then completed the chase in 10.1 overs, with eight wickets remaining.
Dibak Naorem was unbeaten on 25 while opener Ronald Ningombam scored 14 and Suson Yanglem Singh was not out for six in their win.
In the process, Ronald was removed by Khumukcham Romesh while Irungbam Tonton fell for a duck to Rajkumar Thapa.
KASC outdid CYCLONE by five wickets via VJD method in their contest at Cherapur, Thoubal.
CYCLONE, who chose to bat first, were dismissed in 32 overs for 120, with Donny scoring 28 and Aditya Prasad contributing 26.KASC dished a collective bowling display to limit their opponents to a low total courtesy of Bm Afsar, who snapped three wickets, and Md Aqeel and Fm Sharif who both picked up two, with Md Babu, Afjal Khan and Md Rahis Khan chipping in with one apiece.
Chasing a 98-run target in 27 overs after VJD method was applied, KASC finished the task in 18.1 overs as Muhammad Ali Karim led the way with 29, Washim Akram collected 22, and Afjal Khan added 18 to propel their team to a dominant victory.
In the process, KASC lost five wickets.
PTRC, meanwhile, beat TRAU by 68 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Electing to bat, PTRC posted a respectable 252/6 in their 40 overs as Jotin Singh Pheiroijam masterly smashed an unbeaten 115, with valuable contributions from Salam Richie (53) and Khaidem Joyraj Meitei (32) .
After their overs were reduced to 23 for a target for 176, TRAU faltered in their run chase and ended up falling short of the target as they were all out for 107 in 20 overs.
Henba Paonam was the chief destroyer for PTRC with a remarkable haul of five wickets, aided by one each from Laitonjam Jackson Singh, Bush Sagolsem, Ngashepam Shivason Singh, Laitonjam James Singh and Venson Yumnam for their comfortable win.
