TG, Utlou schools clinch titles in Bishnupur Subroto Cup

Imphal, May 15 2024: TG English School and Utlou Govt Model Hr School won titles in the 63rd Bishnupur Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2024 at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur district on Wednesday.

TG English School emerged as the champions of the U-17 boys' tournament after they secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Pinjabati High School in the final match.

Frenky opened the scoring in the 9th minute as Prem-sagar extended the advantage in the 26th minute before Yo-henba rounded off the scoring in the 44th minute to guide their school to a memorable title triumph.

Utlou Govt Model Hr School, on the other hand, overcame TG English School on penalties to win the U-15 boys' competition.

The match went into spot kicks after the two teams remained 1-1 after the regulation time.

Brucelee put Utlou Govt Model Hr School ahead in the 43rd minute, but Alex Oinam equalised for TG English School in the 47th minute.

In the penalty shootout, the Utlou Govt Model Hr School boys held their nerves to outscore their opponents 4-3 to take the U-15 tournament crown.

In the shootout, N Raju Meitei, L Yoihenba, T Marjesh and Ph Brucelee all converted from the spot to help their team win the tournament.
