BBA, MPSC, YLK, PC win in state handball tourney

Imphal, May 13 2024: BBA, MPSC, YLK and PC defeated their respective opponents in men's category of the 46th Senior State Level Handball Championship 2024 held at Lilong Mairenkhong MRC ground, while MPSC emerged victorious in a women's category match.

In men's group, BBA defeated Mairenkhong Rising Club (MRC) 26-18 with Inaocha and Malemnganba netted six goals each, Richard and Wangthoi contributing five each, Thoiba three and Gourchandra one.

MPSC outplayed YWO 32-17 riding on goals from Okendro (9), Robi (8), three goals each from Ingocha and Bijoy, two goals each from Hemanta, Saratchandra and Jayenta, and one apiece from Premchandra, Becker and Debal.

In another match, YLK drubbed CYDOL 36-9 as Bikramjit (7), Lakhpati and Shilheiba (six each), Henba (5), Nandakumar and Pravin (four each), Adison and Krinibash (two each), scored for the winning team.

Taking the field again, BBA beat SSC 27-20 .

Rochard netted 11 goals for the victorious team with support from Wangthoi (6), Intiyaz (3) and two goals each from Ingocha, Surchandra and Amish along with one goal from Thoithoiba.

PC scraped past OYO 21-20 as Sarukhan (7), Priyo (6), James (2) and one goal each were contributed by Romesh, Manoranjan, Chingkheinganba and Ajit to take their team to victory.

In women's group, MPSC trounced ESU 28-12, courtesy of Luxmi (6), Apabi (5), Sandhyarani (4), Khomeiton and two goals each from Ba-bina and Santibala.
