Kangpokpi, August 12 2025: The grand finale of the Peace and Friendship Volleyball Tournament 2025 was held Tuesday at the Kangpokpi District Headquarters Sports Complex, drawing an enthusiastic crowd and fostering an atmosphere of unity and sportsmanship.

The event was attended by Brigadier Anshuman Tripathi, DIG, 22 Sector Assam Rifles, as the chief guest, along with SP Kangpokpi Manoj Prabhakar M, A/112 Battalion CRPF KTC, the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), the Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation (KWWO), the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills (KISH), and the Kuki Inpi Saikul (KIS) .

The tournament was jointly organised by the 16 Assam Rifles and the Kangpokpi Youth Union, with the aim of promoting harmony, friendship, and healthy competition among the youth.

The final match, contested between Danger Boys and KMT Jangnoi, showcased exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork from both sides.

The players engaged in intense rallies, thrilling the spectators with their athleticism and sportsmanship.

In his address, Brigadier Tripathi commended both teams for their spirited performance and highlighted the importance of sports as a medium to strengthen community bonds.

He also lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the tournament and encouraged the youth to actively participate in such positive engagements.

The match concluded with KMT Jangnoi winning 3-1 (25-21), clinching the championship title along with a cash prizeof Rs 30,000, atrophy, a certificate, and a medal.

Danger Boys secured the second position, receiving a cash prize of Rs 20,000, a medal, a certificate, and a trophy.

Ibrahim Athoi of KMT Jangnoi was awarded Best Player of the Tournament, receiving a cash prize of Rs 5,000, a medal, a certificate, and a trophy.
