MU names basketball teams for Zonal Inter University Tournaments

Imphal, December 09 2025: The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the names of the men and women shortlisted in the university teams for participation in the East Zone Inter University (M&W) Tournaments to be respectively hosted by University of Kolkata, WB and DDU Gorakhpur University, UP.

The players as announced by the Department of Sports, Manipur University are as follows.

Men : Kangba Albinus of Don Bosco College, Mutum Lanchenba of NG College, Irom Chinglemba of JCRE Global College, Wungshungmi Siro of Liberal College, Ngangom Bronson of Imphal College, Huirongbam Rahul of Thoubal College, Kongjengbam Walter of MIT, Longjam Yaikhomba of MU, Laiphrakpam Leishemba of Manipur College, Achom Lenin of KP College, Thoidingjam Newton of KP College, Nameirakpam Revoljit of KP College.

Reserves : Ngairangbam Martin of MU, Achom Smith of Manipur College, and Pukhrambam Thoungamba of JCRE Global College.

Women : Athini Davis of MU, Deboraj Jasha of MU, Thaisa Sangne of MU, Leiyachon Hungyo of MU, Rajkumari Princika of MIT, Okram Neha of MIT, Laishram Merina of TS Paul Manipur Women's College, Ningombam Anjali of Thoubal College, Ningombam Sundari of Thoubal College, Khoirom Omega of Standard College, Hanjabam Oceania of Standard College, and Laishram Anjelica of Waikhom Mani Girls' College.

Reserves Wekubebu Wezah of MU, Khaidem Changkhonbi of MIT, and Kongbrailatpam Pilu Sharma of TS Paul Manipur Women's College.

The selected players were also instructed to report to the office of the Assistant Director of Sports, MU on December 11 at 11.30 am for further directives.

Notably the men's tournament is due to be held from January 5 to 9 while the women's tournament is scheduled to be held from January 15 to 19 .
