CHAMP, CYCLONE have it easy in MNCA Elite

CHAMP Cricket Club and CYCLONE secured commanding victories in Saturday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament.
The day highlighted stellar individual performances and tactical brilliance, setting a high bar for the tournament's competitive spirit.
CHAMP outclassed PTCC by 5 wickets in a low-scoring thriller at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
PTCC struggled to build momentum after being sent in to bat, posting 145 all out in 36 overs.
Captain Andy Mandingbam emerged as the lone warrior, smashing 83 off 80 balls (11 fours, 2 sixes) .
However, CHAMP's bowlers dismantled the middle order, led by Keisham Kennedy (3/21 in 8 overs) and Mohd Ahsanul Kabir (3/35), who exploited the pitch's variable bounce.
In response, CHAMP chased down the target with 5 wickets to spare, reaching 146/5 in 32 overs.
Opener Yumnam Kamajit led the innings with a gritty 50 off 63 balls, while wicketkeeper Leikhram Johny Singh added 46 .
PTCC's Sadananda Okram (2/29) briefly revived hopes with two quick wickets, but CHAMP skipper Md Sultan Karim (23* off 31) steered his team home with calm authority.
CYCLONE claimed a 4-wicket win over REYS at Mojjing Public Ground, Thoubal.
REYS opted to bat first but faltered against CYCLONE's disciplined attack, collapsing to 143 all out in 30.3 overs.
Ringku Kangujam (30 off 38 balls) and Yungkham Romario Roy (18 off 15) offered brief resistance, but CYCLONE's Kishan Laishram (3/23) and Suraj Nong (2/0 in 2 overs) dismantled the lineup.
Suraj's spell, which included two maiden wickets, was a masterclass in precision.
CYCLONE's chase saw early jitters, but wicketkeeper Muhammed Al Bashid (50 off 78 balls) anchored the innings with a composed half-century, supported by Robinson Sougajjam (32 off 67).REYS fought back through Yungkham Romario Roy (3/32), reducing CYCLONE to 140/6, but a last-ball six from Reolin Dinam (6* off 1) sealed a dramatic 4-wicket win.
