Bushan in HB national ranking tennis semis

Haobam Bushan emerged as the lone state player to make it to the men's singles semifinals of the Heisnam Basantakumar National Ranking Men's Tennis Championship.
Bushan booked his place in the last four with a 7-5 6-7 win over fellow state player Heisnam Shanker in their quarterfinal match at Imphal District Tennis Association court, Lamphelpat on Wednesday.
Haobam Bushan will now face West Bengal's Borthakur Abhinansu, who beat Maharashtra's Nishith Rahane 6-2 6-4 in their quarterfinal encounter.
Mohanty Pratush of West Bengal and Suresh Keerthivassan of Tamil Nadu also advanced to the semifinals.
Mohanty defeated Punjab's Sarthak Gulati 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 while Suresh secured the last-four berth after Jaya Prakash retired hurt.
He was ahead 6-4 2-0 when Prakash pulled out of the match.
Mohanty Pratush and Suresh Keerthivassan will square off for a spot in the final.
In the doubles event, the pairs of Khate Vilasier and Randhawa Manvir Singh, Verma Achintya and Arunava Majumdar, Ganesh Manish and Deka Sidhant, and Mohanty Pratush and Sahoo Debasis all progressed to the quarterfinals.
