MSL: FC Lamjao drub SAIRC as AFC, NACO play out 2-2 draw

FC Lamjao cruised tc > a 3-0 victory over SAIRC, while AFC and NACO fought to a dramatic 2-2 stalemate during Wednesday's electrifying fixtures of the 17th Manipur State League at the Artificial Turf Ground in Lamlong Thongkhong.
Md Samir emerged as the star of the day, netting a scintillating brace to propel FC Lamjao past SAIRC.
After a tightly contested first half yielded no goals, Samir ignited the contest in the 54th minute, slicing through SAIRC's defence to break the deadlock.
The striker doubled his tally just six minutes later, capitalising on a defensive lapse to slot home calmly.
Teammate Elangbam Joykison Singh then put the result beyond doubt, firing home in the 75th minute to seal a comprehensive victory for Lamjao, who showcased their title credentials with a clinical second-half performance.
The day's other fixture delivered edge-of-the-seat drama as NACO clawed back from a late deficit to snatch a 2-2 draw against AFC.
NACO drew first blood when Takhenchangbam Krishnananda Sharma scored a sublime 30th-minute opener, but AFC roared back after halftime.
Sahidur Rahaman levelled proceedings in the 50th minute, before Wahengbam Tejkkumar Meitei completed the turnaround for AFC, drilling home a low shot in the 65th minute.
Just as victory seemed certain for AFC, NACO's Nongmaithem Ashokumar rose to the occasion, scoring in a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time (90+1) to spark wild celebrations
among his teammates.
