Imphal, August 02 2025: Manipur Hockey continued their strong start in the 15th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2025 (Division B) with a convincing 2-0 victory over Hockey Uttarakhand in Pool A, held on Saturday at Pitch 1 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

After a goalless first half marked by evenly matched exchanges, Manipur broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Mutum Priya Devi netted a field goal, giving her side a crucial lead going into the final quarter.

The team consolidated their advantage in the 55th minute, when Keisam Eleena converted a penalty corner to make it 2-0, effectively sealing the result.

Manipur's defence held firm throughout the match, denying any scoring opportunities to the Uttarakhand side.

Despite a resilient effort from Uttarakhand, they were unable to match Manipur's pace and precision in the attacking third.

Earlier on Friday, Manipur got their campaign off to a flying start with a dominant 5-0 victory over Kerala Hockey.
