KPFC, SAI-SAG victorious in Bpr Super Divn League

Imphal, October 01 2019: KPFC, Kha Potsangbam overwhelmed NCYWO, Nungshai Chiru 4-1 to post their second win and maintain an unbeaten run at the 3rd L Itomcha Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament being organised by DSA Bishnupur at Mini Stadium Bishnupur.

SAI SAG which were held to a goalless draw in the previous match by KPFC, registered their second win at the tournament beating TRUGPU, Nambol by 2-0 goals today.

In the first match of the day, KPFC made the most of the possession and scoring chances and led the first half by 2-0 goals as NCYWO failed to contain their rivals' fine team executions.

L Chingkheinganba struck the first for KPFC when the match was only two minutes old capitalising on a defensive lapse of the Nungshai Chiru team.

Looking for more, KPFC strung a series of attack looking for the gaps but were denied by already alert NCYWO defence for a major portion until S Premchand found the net in the 35th minute to ensure KPFC a 2-0 lead till the break.

Lurpui of NCYWO managed to pull back a goal in the 41st minute before S Premchand rose again and banged in his second in the 58th minute and helped KPFC maintain the two goal cushion yet again.

T Bijendra then rounded off the scoring for KPFC in the 72nd minute after the two sides exchanged few runs.

Elsewhere in the second match, SAI SAG rode on first half goals by W Dinku (14') and L Jackson (27') to seal a 2-0 win against TRUGPU, Nambol.

KPFC will meet TYDA, Toubal in the next match of the tournament on October 3 at 1 pm at the same venue before NWYCO take TRUGPU latter at 3 pm .
