DMC Arts clinch DMU Inter college football title

Imphal, October 31 2024: DM College of Arts defeated DMU on penalties to win the 3rd DMU Inter College Men's Football Tournament 2024 at DMC Science Ground on Thursday.

In a closely contested final match, DMU took an early lead courtesy of L Dhanakeshwor, who found the back of the net in the 9th minute.

However, DM College of Arts responded through Affareed, who struck in the equaliser the 42nd minute, leading to a 1-1 deadlock at the end of regulation time.

Following the stalemate, the contest stretched to a penalty shootout, where DM College of Arts kept their composure to seal a thrilling 6-5 win over their opponents.

In the shootout, T Ronel, Sidque, L Sheitajit, Thangalar, Azad and Jajo Somirin converted their shots, handing DM College of Arts a memorable title triumph.

For DMU, Kh Roshan, A Vivid, T Khrishna Mohon, Bk Rangpong and S Yum-lemba were the successful penalty takers.

Among the individual title winners included DMC Arts' Neresh Shah (best goalkeeper), DMU's BK Rangpong (best player of the tournament) , and DMC Arts' Mekam J Reglin (player of the final match).

Meanwhile, DMC Science received the award for best disciplined team.
