Sanamanbi, L Yuhenba top Recurve event in 38th Jr State Archery C'ship

Imphal, September 27 2026: Y Sanamanbi of ESU and Leishangthem Yuhenba of SAI-RC emerged as the boys and girls individual Recurve event winners in the 38th Junior State Archery C'ship organised by the Manipur Archery Association at RCC ground, Khuman Lampak.

Sanamanbi of ESU beat UAC's Thingujam Gladee 6-0 for the top honour as Yaikhombi Thongam of SAI-RC finished third.

Yuhenba meanwhile beat compatriot Keithellakpam Rohit 5(8)- 5(7) in a keenly contested final round to share the 1-2 podium finishes as Hidangmayum Binison Sharma of AAA finished third.

In the 70m x 70m Recurve event, Jenifer Paonam of BAA scored 606 points to finish on top as Yumnam Sanamanbi (600 pts) and Yaikhombi Thongam (579 pts) secured the second and third places.

For boys' 70m x 70m Recurve event, Paikhomba Chongtham of AMLSC secured 658 points to win the title followed by L Yuhenba (648 pts) and Kh Tom (643 pts) in the second and third places.

SAI-RC however claimed the girls' team Recurve title as Yaikhombi, S Melody, G Laxmi and U Morning beat the ESU team of Y Sanamanbi, Y Bibirani and W Malasana 6-2 .

The BAA team finished third in the competition.

FAC, on the other hand, won the boys' team Recurve event beating SAI-RC 6-0 in the final shoot-out as the BAA team finished third.

Yaikhombi Thongam and Leishangthem Yuhenba also combined well to earn SAI-RC the mixed team Recurve event gold medal.

The pair outshone BAA pair of Jenifer Paonam and Sougrakpam Rakesh 6-0 in the final for the top honour as ESU team made third place finish.
