Sadar Hills District Patriots Tournament 2014 inaugurates

Kangpokpi, September 26 2014 : The First Sadar Hills District Patriots Tournament 2014 kicked-off here today at Brig.

Thomas Ground after Chongpu Kipgen, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi opened the tournament as chief guest of the occasion.

The tournament has been organized in commemoration and honour of those patriots who laid down their precious life for Sadar Hills during the first and second phase of Sadar Hills Movement according to the organizing committee source.

The inaugural function has been attended by leaders of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Sadar Hills Chiefs' Association (SAHILCA), Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills, various Church leaders and other leaders of various communities within Sadar Hills.

The congregate paid homage to the departed soul of Seikeng Haokip, Lalminlen Sitlhou, Ch.

Lhingdeihoi Khongsai, Harimaya Poudel, Krishna Maya and Yaireiphi Lungleng in a condolence service amidst the programme leads by Rev..JLunkim, Pastor KCC in the presence of the departed soul's family.

A minute complete silence has been observed in honour of them.

After inspection of players and declared opened the tournament by the MCS Officer, Kanggui Youth Union and Jogam Khannou Lom played the opening match amidst scanty rainfall. The match went in favour of Jogam Khannou Lom in just 8 min.

when Seiginmang scored a superb as well as significant and also the lone goal of the match which account for winning the opening match by his team.

In the meantime, KYA Champhai defeated SMT Kanggui 2-0 in the second match today.

Altogether 32 teams will participant in the tournament which will be played at Brig.

The Tournament will bestow a cash prize of Rs.1 Lac with trophy for the Champion, Rs.50,000/- with Trophy for the runner-up while Rs.30,000/- and Rs.20,000/- for the third and fourth place.

Best team of the Tournament will get Rs.10,000/- with trophy apart from various attractive individual prizes said the organizing committee.
