MNCA Secretary XI secured a commanding 78-run victory over the Sports Journalist XI in a friendly Twenty20 match at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, the MNCA Secretary XI set a formidable target of 210/6 in their 20 overs.
Despite early setbacks with openers Geet Lairenjam (7) and Amuba Ng (0) departing cheaply, Brajabashimayum Biswajit Shanna anchored the innings with a composed 50 before being forced to retire hurt.
Rohindro Pheiroijam added momentum with a solid 43 but also retired due to injury, while Khangembam Basanta (23*) and Siju Tayengjam (23 retired hurt) provided late fireworks.
Bobin remained unbeaten on 2 to cap the innings.
The Sports Journalist XI's bowling attack struggled to contain the onslaught, with L Arun emerging as the standout performer, claiming 4 wickets.
