PTRC win Senior Women's One Day title

PTRC (Patsoi) registered a thrilling one-run win over THAU (Thangmeiband) in the final of the 3rd MNCA Senior Womens One Day Trophy 2023-24 at THAU Ground on Sunday.
Electing to bat, PTRC made 144/6 in 35 overs, with RK Linthoingambi Devi leading the way with 51, Binomala Chanu Chingangbam unbeaten on 32, Chingkheileima Chanu Mangsatabam scoring 28, and Kiranbala Palujam providing 14 in an innings marred by four runouts.
Kiranbala Chanu Hao-rungbam and Milan Chanu Yambem took one wicket each for THAU.
In reply, THAU, riding on efforts by Ronibala Chanu Thokchom (43) and Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum (25), put up a spirited fight but fell short by one run, after they were all out for 143 in 32.4 overs.
Kiranbala Palujam shone with the ball for PTRC with four scalps while Konsam Sayatombi Devi impressed with three wickets, with RK Linthoingambi Devi taking two and Ranjita Devi Koi-jam contributing one in their memorable title triumph.
Niruta Thoudam walked away with both the woman of the series and highest wicket-taker trophies, with 18 wickets and 159 runs in seven innings.
On the other hand, Keisham Kalpana was the highest run-scorer for her 438 runs in 7 innings while Palujam Kiranbala was named the player of the final match for her four wickets in 5.4 overs, conceding 14 runs.
Champions PTRC pocketed 40,000 in prize money as THAU received Rs 30,000 .
