TRAU Cricket Academy celebrates fourth anniversary

Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) Cricket Academy celebrated 4th foundation day at its Kwakeithel office on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman Potsangbam Srikanta recalled that the Academy was established to groom talented cricketers from the grassroots level with support of then minister L Jayantakumar, IMG Ward No.12 corporator, TRAU secretary, vice president and Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) .
Apart from the Academy regularly producing cricketers of various age categories, the U16 boys' team of the Academy reached the semi-final stage of the recently held U16 MNCA N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy, said the chairman.
Srikanta also informed that presently 35 players including four girls are undergoing training in the Academy by paying monthly fee of Rs 500, and conveyed gratitude to all for supporting the Academy in its endeavours.
He also appealed to MNCA to allow the Academy host the upcoming U14 Women's Cricket Tournament at TRAU Cricket Field and provide funding for expansion of shed of the Academy.
The programme was also attended by TRAU vice president Kh Holendro, MNCA secretary Leishangthem Ronel, treasurer Ch Nishikanta, former secretary Sinam Priyananda, Standing Committee chairman Thangjam Babu, Men's Cricket Committee chairman Th Bijoy, YFSC secretary L Bigyan, and Academy's former joint secretary K Bobin as the presidium members.
