37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo : X-Polo Club, Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club progress into semi-finals

Imphal, March 21 2025: X-Polo Club, Wangkhei and Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club sailed into the semi-finals of the 37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2025 with quarterfinal victories today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the first quarterfinal match of the tournament, X-Polo Club beat Chingkheihunba Polo Club, Kongpal by 8-7 goal in a keenly contested encounter that was extended to fifth chukker after settling a 7-7 draw at the end of four chukkers.

X-Polo Club were trailing by 1-3 goals after two chukkers but made a spirited comeback in the last two chukkers courtesy of a treble from Th Santosh and a double from Th Jacob and came to level terms with Chingkheihunba Polo Club.

X- Polo Club however emerged triumphant as L Atangba made all the difference by scoring the winner and his third goal of the match to seal the victory one minute into the fifth chukker.

For Chingkheihunba Polo Club, T Leishemba scored thrice as O Rozer scored two and Th Kaoba and A Basanta added a goal apiece.

In the second quarterfinal match of the tournament, Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club rode on M Chaoba's treble to knock out MPSC-A 8-5 .

S Saolin and K Yaikhomba also added two goals apiece for the winners as W Abothe added one.

For MPSC-A who trailed 0-5 at halfway mark, Y Binoy scored twice while M Jawan, Th Romen and Th Ranjit added a goal apiece.
