INJC, SSC complete Inter Sawombung football semis lineup

Imphal, July 19 2025: INJC (Itam Nungoi) and SSC (SAWOMBUNG) triumphed in their respective quarterfinal matches to complete the semifinal lineup of the 18th Inter Sawombung Invitation Football Tournament 2025 .

INJC clinched their semifinal place after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout win over ANNLK (Sawombung Thongkhong), following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

H Ghandhi opened the scoring for INJC in the 32nd minute, but Kh Debam equalised for ANNLK just before halftime (43'), forcing the match into penalties.

In the shootout, A Rozer, H Rohit, Langamba, and Aphaoba held their nerve to convert their spot-kicks, sealing a hard-fought victory.

The day's other quarterfinal also went to penalties, with SSC prevailing 5-3 against YYC (Yourabung) .

SSC took an early lead through A Jebline (19'), but YYC fought back with Ng Gunindro's 48th-minute leveller, taking the game to a shootout.

SSC's A Sonalish, A Bipinchandra, L Naocha, A Jebline, and Hijam Lenin all scored from the spot, ensuring their progression to the semifinals.

The first semifinal will see SKYC (Sawombung Khunjao) face SSYC (Sawombung Sairem) on Sunday, July 20, 2025 .
