CRAU thrashed YPHUC by 105 runs in a rain-curtailed MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament match at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal on Saturday.
CRAU batted brilliantly with Ph Jodash smashing 81, Lamabam Jotin Singh hitting and Sanatomba K making an unbeaten 63 to post 272/5 in 28.1 overs after deciding to bat first.
In the process, CRAU lost 2 wickets each to Irom Ishor and Irom Sunny Singh, and one to Krishnakanta Ngangkham.
Chasing 199 after their innings was reduced to 19 overs, YPHUC came up short after being restricted to 105/9 in their stipulated overs.
In CRAU's emphatic win, Bm Sabakhan claimed 3 wickets, Kh Lohitsun and Dinu Sarangthem picked up two apiece, and Lamabam Jotin Singh and Thongam Joychandra took one each.
For YPHUC, Birbal Irom (20), Bishworaj Sharma (19), Irom Sunny Singh (13) and Anderson Keithellakpam (10) reached double digits in their futile run chase.
Meanwhile, the match between AKSDO and IBSA was abandoned due to rain.
IBSA were 43/3 in 11.2 when rain forced the game to be called off.
Laishram Nirash Singh took 2 wickets for AKSDO.
