MEIRAA, HU, TWC reach YRM hockey tourney semis

Imphal, January 17 2025: MEIRAA (Bashikhong), HU (Lairikyengbam Leikai) and TWC (Toubungkhok) all enjoyed a smooth passage into the boys' semifinals of the 12th Yumnam Rashmani Memorial Invitation U-15 Boys' and Women's Open 7-a-side Hockey Tournament.

MEIRAA booked their place in the last four with relative ease as they pummelled YCCIC by a staggering 32-0 margin.

Ningombam Ger-ik Singh led the rout with a 10-goal salvo, followed by Lanthoiba Okram, who scored eight goals.

Both Kshetrimayum Amarjit Singh and Wahengbam Paikhom-ba Luwang chipped in with four goals, while Ningombam Rohit Singh and Ningombam Mahesh Singh contributed three goals each.

HU eased past PHAM 11-1 .

Saikhom Nishi, Waribam Vishal, Konsam Mahendra-' jit and Yumlembam Torres each scored two goals, while Waribam Andrew, Waribam Derris and Waribam Jeson netted one apiece in their side's emphatic win enroute to the semifinals.

PHAM's consolation goal was scored by Lukram Sunaraj.

The other match saw TWC claim a commanding 8-2 victory over BH on their way to the last four.

Milan A led the scoring with three goals, Boynao M and Malemnganba Ak contributed two goals each, with Lingjenganba Ch and K Dinaraj Singh getting one each for TWC.

BH scored through Thiyam Rohit Singh and Wahengbam Akash Singh.

The semifinals will take place on Saturday (January 18, 2025) as MEIRAA take on THHA and HU face TWC .
