Passing of former SSU player Meghachandra mourned

Imphal, August 16 2025: The Southern Sporting Union (SSU) on Saturday mourned the demise of their former player, Khumukcham Meghachandra Singh, who passed away on August 9 at his residence in Kakching Khunou Thingnam Bokul Leikai.

In a press release, the club expressed deep shock and sorrow over the loss, recalling Meghachandra's contribution to the SSU team that won the Sir Churachand Singh KCSI CBE Memorial All India Invitational Football Tournament in 2001 and 2003 .

His service to the club's growth and success was described as invaluable.

A condolence meeting, chaired by SSU president Kh Ibopishak Singh, was held at the club premises on Saturday (August 16), where members and players observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the SSU, through its press release, prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
