Football: NYC, TYC romp as LYCC pip Riverlane at CSDSA Sports Meet

Imphal, January 15 2025: Nungpan YC and Thungcheng YC claimed commanding victories, while LYCC beat River lane 2-1 in Wednesday's football fixtures of the 44th CSDSA Sports Meet 2025 at Chakpikarong playground in Chandel district.

Motilar netted four goals as Nungpan YC handed out a crushing 6-1 defeat to Dangkhu YC.

Motilar put Nungpan 2-0 up after scoring twice in quick succession in the 14th and 18th minutes.

Warngam narrowed the gap for Dangkhu in the 20th minute, only for Warhman (40+1) and Motilar (40+2) to restore Nungpan's momentum with a goal each just before the halftime whistle.

Then Motilar was at it again to complete his four-goal salvo in the 62nd minute before Warhman rounded out the scoring with his second and team's fourth goal in the 72nd minute.

Thuncheng YC enjoyed a 7-1 thrashing of Chakpikarong Youngstar.

Omega (56,58,75) led the rout with a hat-trick, while Chankingam (53, 72) scored a double, with Wartha (21) and Mackson (24) contributing one goal each in their emphatic triumph.

Koningtha (77) scored the lone goal for Chakpikarong.

LYCC, on the other hand, scored through Phowlpe (54) and Shelpa (62) to earn a 2-1 win over Riverland, who scored through Angjoyhring (80+1) .

In the day's veteran match, KKNYC eased past Nungpan Dangkhu VT 3-0 as Juningam (52, 59) netted a brace after Tomas (8) opened the scoring.
