PTRC crowned champions of MNCA Elite tourney

PTRC, Patsoi were crowned champions of the 8th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament on Monday after they crushed CYCLONE, Thangmeiband by 31 runs in the final.
Batting first, PTRC amassed 194 runs in 44.4 overs riding on the opening partnership of Khangembam Santosh Singh (58) and Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh (31) as Kishan Laishram led the CYCLONE bowling attack with four scalps, while Abdul Kasim, Loktongbam Santosh Meitei and Nongmaithem Suraj Singh claimed two wickets each.
PTRC bowlers led by captain Raj Kumar Rex Singh (3 wickets) never allowed CYCLONE batters to settle down claiming wickets at regular intervals to finally bundle out the rival for only 163 in 40.3 overs with Loktongbam Santosh Meitei (44) being the only notable contributor.
Besides Rex, Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam (3), Khaidem Joyraj Meitei (2), Jotin Singh Pheiroijam (1) and Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh (1) were the other wicket taking bowlers for the eventual champions, who walked home richer with the cash prize of Rs 2,20,000 and trophy, with CYCLONE handed over the runners-up trophy and cash prize of Rs 1,70,000 .
Man of the Series was bagged by Pheiroijam Jotin Singh of PTRC for scoring 659 runs and taking 16 wickets in 13 innings and the Man of the Match to Bishworjit Konthoujam of PTRC for his 3 wickets in 8 overs and scoring run-a-ball 21 .
Highest Run Scorer award was presented to Ph Jotin (659), Highest Wicket Taker jointly to Abdul Kasim and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei of CYCLONE (27 wickets each), Best Fielder to Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh (PTRC) and Best Wicket Keeper to Muhammed Al Bashid (CYCLONE) .
