CRAU, SCCC, RCA enjoy emphatic wins in MNCA Men's U-23 tourney

Imphal, June 11 2024:
CRAU, SCCC and RCA recorded emphatic wins in Tuesday's fixtures of the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament.
CRAU strolled to a 108-run victory against CYCLONE at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Lamabam Jotin, Bm Sabakhan and Thongam Joychandra all played important roles in their triumph.
Asked to bat, CRAU scored 192 after falling in 34.4 overs.
Lamabam Jotin top-scored in the innings with 88, followed by Thongam Joychandra (23), 2 Sanatomba K (19), Dennis Khangenbam (14), Dinu Sarangthem (13), Rojer Laishram (6 not out) and Kh Lohitsun (5) .
CRAU then dished out a superb bowling display to end CYCLONE'S run chase in 24.3 overs for 84 as both Binson Laithangbam and Maverick Wakambam made 17 in their dismal chase.
Bm Sabakhan shone with the ball, taking four wickets.
On the other hand, Thongam Joychandra impressed with three scalps while Kh Lohitsun and Dinu Sarangthem contributed one wicket apiece in the Khamnam Bazar squads' a resounding win.
Earlier, Suraj Singh Meisnam and Aribam Ronald Sharma shared seven wickets between them in the CYCLONE attack.
SCCC overpowered YUCC by 147 runs in their league match played at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
Deciding to bat, SCCC made 213/9 in their 40 overs.
Their total revolved around Basant's impressive knock of 99 (not out) and Ulenyai Khwairakpam's 62, with Ankit Prasad adding 11 in their innings.
In the process, five of SCCC's wickets fell prey to Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang.
Lishan Meitei Khaidem was the star performer in SCCC's bowling attack which saw Lishan pick up five wickets to help the Singjamei side take only 17.5 overs to bowl out YUCC for 66 .
Rex Waikhom and Basant claimed two each, and Ulenyai Khwairakpam took one in their victory.
Only Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh (12) managed to reach double digits in their run chase.
In Thoubal, RCA thumped TRAU by nine wickets.
Electing to bat, TRAU could only manage 111 after being bundled out in 25.1 overs.
Ishorchandra Loitongbam and Mutum Swabhiman both scored 26 while Huiningshumbam Luching made 16 in their innings.
Naesh Hussain emerged as the chief destroyer for RCA with five wickets as Aziz Mirza snapped two, and Md Danish Khan and Zamir Khan bagged one each.
RCA then needed 15.1 overs to complete the chase courtesy of Syed Hussain (74 not out), Zamir Khan (19 not out) and Imran Khan (11) .
In the process, RCA lost a wicket to Subham Raut.
