CRPF organises sporting events

Imphal, October 10 2026: Sporting events organised by various Battalions of CRPF continued across the State.

The day saw 8 Battalion CRPF organise a football tournament between the villages of Kainou and Nankhan Kainou under the Vibrant Village Programme.

A total of 8 teams participated in the tournament with great enthusiasm.

The programme commenced with an impressive march past, in which all participating teams took an active part.

This was followed by an exhibition football match, which was highly exciting and entertaining.

The event aimed to promote sportsmanship, discipline, mutual harmony and community bonding among local youth while encouraging them to engage in constructive activities, said 8 Bn CRPF in a press statement.

An U18 Boys football tournament also went underway at Public Ground, Lamka, Churachandpur under the aegis of the 129 Bn CRPF .

The event was opened in the presence of Ravish Kumar, Commandant, 129 Bn CRPF, in the presence of Battalion officers, Krishna Kumar, DC Churandpur and other prominent district dignitaries, said 129 Bn CRPF in a press release.

The opening match saw Ganggam Soccer Club FA suffer a 0-5 defeat to PLL Academy.

Meanwhile, the U18 Women's Football Tournament organised by the 232 (M) Bn CRPF under SPANDAN initiative Presidency College ground, Motbung came to a close.

The 12-team tournament concluded with Teen FC defeating Langkhong Youth Club in the title clash.

Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Sapormeina finished third in the tournament.

The top three teams and other individual prize winners were also feted during the closing function of the tournament that was graced by Ashok Kumar, Commandant of 94 Bn CRPF; Uma Shankar Verma, Chief Medical Officer of 112 Bn CRPF; Aiswarya Joy, Asst Commandant 232 (M) Bn as dignitaries.
