3rd Premier League : Themchui Rs nets twice in SU's 6-0 rout of IYFC

Imphal, December 09 2025: Themchui Rs shone yet again as he came off the bench to score a double and guided Sagolband United (SU) 6-0 past IYFC for the team's 7th win in 12matchesof the ongoing 3rd Premier League 2025-26 at SSC ground, Sekta.

Coming off from a 1-2 loss to RAU in the previous encounter, SU started cautiously and entered into the break with a 2-0 advantage thanks to goals from Rewung R Shimray (14') and Ganningam Malangmei (38') .

After the restart, SU kept pressing for more goals and it was Hawaibam Surdas Meitei who made it 3-0 after 58 minutes before Themchui Rs who subbed in for Ganningam Malangmei after 57 minutes further extended the lead to 4-0 after 65 minutes.

The fifth goal came in the form of an own goal with lYFC's Takhellambam Pairienganba Meetei fumbling to score against his team after 71 minute before Themchui Rs completed his double at the stroke of the 90-minute.With the win, SU go 4th on 21 points behind runaway leaders SSU (34 points), AIM (23 points; GD 11) who are occupying second place off 7 wins and 2 draws in 11 matches and UCFC (23 points : GD 9) who are currently third off 7 wins and 2 draws in 12 matches.

Earlier in the day, Sang-gai Heroes (SGH) edged past AMOFA, Moirang by 2-1 goals for their 5th win in 12 matches.

It was a see-saw contest as Thiyam Robertson Singh put SGH ahead after 30 minute before Shilngamba Shogolsem found the winner in the 73rd minute following AMOFA's equaliser in the 57th minute through Konjengbam Newton Singh.

ASUFII FA will play YPHU in the next match tomorrow morning from 11.30 am before AIM take on ABA in the afternoon fixture beginning at 1.30 pm .
