SFC, NESU win in 17th MSL

Imphal, February 09 2025: Sainik School Imphal Old Boys' Football Club (SFC), Tera and North Eastern Sporting Union (NESU) emerged victorious in today's matches of the ongoing 17th Manipur State League.

In a Group B match staged at Artificial Turf Ground this afternoon, Lamlong Thongkhong, SFC edged 3-1 past United Brothers FC (UBFC), Ukhrul.

SFC enjoyed a narrow 1-0 first half lead courtesy of Soibam Novel's 30th minute strike before Sr Kagaly Anal made the most of a penalty kick to draw level for UBFC in the 52nd minute.

Hardworking SFC however retained the lead through super sub Naorem Roshan after 76 minutes before his teammate Jetlee Buragoihain further cemented the lead by adding the team's third goal in the 80th minute.

The scoreline remained unchanged despite UBFC's effort to cut the arrears.

Later in the day, NESU rode on Md Mustofa's double to beat Rahee UC 2-0 .

Mustofa handed NESU a 1-0 first half lead by finding the target in the 27th minute before converting a penalty two minutes into the stoppage time to seal the 2-0 win for the Khurai outfit.
