State team leaves for 2nd National Indoor Football Championship

Imphal, June 07 2024:
A team of Manipur Indoor Football Association (MIFA) left Friday to take part in the 2nd National Indoor Football Championship 2024 in Panjim, Goa with Kangleipakki Meira editor Wangkhemcha Shamjai, socio-political commentator Potshangbam Sonamani and Elite TV editor Jit Ningomba flagging off the team from Manipur Press Club, here.
Interacting with the media, MIFA secretary Kiran Yendrembam said that the state team comprising 15 players and three officials would participate in the championship on June 8 and 9 in Goa.
Indoor football is a comparatively new sports in India and this is the first time the state is participating in the national championship.
The association and parents of the players are bearing all the expenses of participating in the championship, he added.
While wishing the very best to the team, he also informed that winners of the championship will compete in the forthcoming Indo-Nepal International Indoor Football Championship.
