Superintendent of Police (Imphal East) Th Radheshyam Singh and Assistant Commandant of 1st Bn Manipur Rifles S Asokumar bagged two titles in doubles events in the 1st All India Police Badminton Championship held from October 31 till November 3 at Dehradun.
Radheshyam and Asokumar scooped the open doubles title defeating IB and Nagaland pair with the former duo wresting the 40+ doubles crown defeating their Punjab rivals, a release of the SP (IE) said.
Asokumar missed the third title of the championship after suffering defeat in the 50+ category wherein he teamed up with IGP Anand Prakash.
The Manipur police contingent with Radheshyam as the team captain won six trophies in the championship which was participated by 17 team.
Manipur also reached the quarter finals in the team event as the winner of Group D which also comprised of teams from the Railway protection Force, special Protection Group and National Police Academy, the release issued today added.
