2nd Sepak Takraw Coaching Camp kicks off at Kairang

The Popular Union Club, Kairang today launched its second month-long Sepak Takraw Coaching Camp.
The camp is being held under the auspices of the All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association (AMSTA) with the objective of developing young talents and promoting grassroots participation in Sepak Takraw across the State.
The inaugural function was graced by Padmashree N Kunjarani Devi, Olympian and Commandant, Group Centre CRPF, Langjing, as the chief guest.
In her speech, she lauded the efforts of the organisers and AMSTA for providing a valuable platform for young players to learn, train, and excel in the sport.
She urged the participants to make the best use of the month-long camp and to imbibe the spirit of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The function was presided over by Mutum Phairenjaoba Meetei, president of the Popular Union Club, Kairang.
Maibam Ramani Chanu, National Coach (Wrestling) and Centre In-Charge of SAI-STC, Khuman Lampak; W Nandini Devi, Second-in-Command, 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphel; Irom Nirmal, SDC, Tulihal (Keirao Bitra Sub-Division); Waikhom Jiten, president, All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association; Thokchom Brajabidhu, president, Imphal East Sepak Takraw Association were also among the dignitaries present at the inaugural function.
Around 150 boys and girls from different districts of Manipur are participating in the camp.
Over the next month, the participants will undergo intensive training focusing on skill development, physical conditioning, tactical play, and team coordination under the guidance of experienced coaches from AMSTA.
Speaking at the event, the dignitaries expressed their hope that the camp would help identify and nurture promising talents who could represent Manipur and India in future National and international tournaments.
The programme concluded with words of encouragement from the organisers, reaffirming their commitment to promote Sepak Takraw and strengthen youth development through sports.
