AMFA conducts referee training & refresher course in Chandel

Imphal, August 30 2024: A Two-Day Referee New Recruitment Training & Refreshers Course cum Fitness Test 2024-25, organised by All Manipur Football Association.

(AMFA) and hosted by District Sports Association, Chandel, kicked off on Friday at Thoruwl Turf, Liwa Sarei, Chandel.

32 referees, comprising 17 new and 15 old referees, are attending the training cum fitness test, with Ph Lanthoiba, head of referee AMFA, M Magho Singh, referee assessor and former FIFA assistant referee, and Ajit Singh, AIFF referee assessor and best AIFF referee award winner 2019, serving as instructors.

The opening ceremony was attended L Jyotirmoy Roy, general secretary AMFA, who was accompanied by DB Kowar Lamkang, acting president AMFA, and other AMFA executives.

Ts Chamna Anal, president DSA, Chandel, dedicated the opening event and prayed for the trainees.

Hl Lovingson Anal, vice-president DSA Chandel, in his welcome address thanked AMFA for organising such a training course in Chandel district by sending three instructors.

He also encouraged the trainees to keep learning and to remain focus on their current efforts, emphasising that these steps are crucial for a brighter tomorrow.

As part of the day's event, DSA Chandel felicitated Sr Ningnihring Anal, who has recently become the second female AIFF national referee from Chandel district.

During his speech, the DSA Chandel president extended congratulations and best wishes to Ningnihring Anal.

He also commended the AIFF national referees from Chandel district for their appointment as match officials for different tournaments.

Notably, Th Joyshing Monsang, AIFF elite referee, will leave Chandel on September 1, 2024 for Aizawl, Mizoram to officiate in I-League-3 2024-25 (September 1-12, 2024), while Rd Hringnidam Anal will leave on August 31 for Berhampore, West Bengal to officiate in the Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship 2024-25 (August 31 to September 12, 2024) .

Earlier, Sr Ningnihring Anal left Chandel on August 30 for Malda, West Bengal to officiate in the Sub-Junior Girls' NFC 2024-25 (August 31 to September 10, 2024) .
