The 6th State Level Yogasana Sports Championship underway

Imphal, September 25 2026: The 6th State Level Yogasana Sports Championship 2026-27 jointly organized by the Manipur Yogasana Sports Association (MYSA) and the Physical Education Section, RIMS, Imphal was inaugurated today at the Jubilee Hall of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

The opening ceremony was graced by Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, as chief guest; Kh Ibomcha, Chairman, Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation; and Naorem Praveen Singh, IAS, Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports, Art & Culture, CADA as guests of honour, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, as special guest and Dr Naorem Chaoba Singh, President, Manipur Yogasana Sports Association (MYSA) .

The championship brought together yogasana participants from across the State and aims to promote yoga as a sport while encouraging physical fitness, discipline, concentration and healthy living among the younger generation, said RIMS in a press release.
