2nd Premier League: Maichong nets brace to steer UCFC to 2-0 win over YSWA

Imphal, June 25 2025: A clinical double from Thaokung Maichong Chothe guided United Chandel FC to a 2-0 win over YSWA in Wednesday's Group B encounter of the 2nd Premier League 2025-26 at Langjing Achouba Turf Ground.

United Chandel dominated possession from the outset but were frustrated by a determined YSWA defence, requiring patience to break the deadlock.

Their persistence paid off in the 35th minute when Malcho-ng Chothe surged forward and coolly slotted home the opening goal.

The striker then doubled his tally deep into first-half stoppage time, netting in the 45+4th minute to give his side a commanding lead at the interval.

After the break, YSWA tightened their defensive shape, limiting United Chan-del's attacking opportunities.

Despite failing to extend their advantage, Maichong Chothe's first-half heroics proved decisive, securing all three points for his side.
