Lanchenba, Radhamani storm into 6th Junior national boxing finals

Imphal, June 24 2025: Manipur were assured two silver medals after Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba Singh and Radhamani Longjam advanced to the finals in their respective weight categories at the 6th Junior National Boxing Championship on Tuesday.

Lanchenba outpunched Aman Dev of Chandigarh in their semifinal bout to book his place in the final of the boys' 50kg category, while Radhamani prevailed over Yani Waii Sonam of Arunachal Pradesh to progress to the final of the girls' 57kg category.

However, it was a disappointing day for four other boxers from the state, who were unable to progress past the semifinal stage.

Riya Heikham (50kg) was defeated by Bhakti of SSCB, and Daina Devi Thoudam (68kg) fell short against Haryana's Diya.

In the boys' division, Mahesh Singh Leimapokpam (70kg) was bested by Arjun of Rajasthan, while Ambekar Meetei Leirnlakpam (48kg) lost to Haryana's Falak.
