PUC-A vs SAIRC in State Junior Girls' Sepaktakraw Championship regu final

Imphal, April 23 2025: PUC-A, Kairang will square off against SAIRC, Khuman Lampak in the girls' regu event title clash of the 26th Junior State Sepaktakraw Championships that began today at IMSUC ground, Heingang.

In the 7-team regu competition for the junior girls, SAIRC beat hosts IMSUC 15-9, 17-14 in the first semi-final to advance into the final before PUC-A got the better of YAWA-A, Singjamei 9-15, 15-6, 15-10 in the second semi-final match.

SAIRC emerged Group A (league stage) winners earlier in the day by defeating SWC, Hiyanglam 17-15, 15-9 for the first win, beating YAWA-A 15-12, 15-5 for the second win and PUC-B 15-8, 15-3 for the third win on trot.

PUC-A meanwhile secured 15-7, 15-11 win against IMSUC and got a walkover win against YAWA-B to finish Group B winners.

YAWA-A also secured a 17-14, 15-12 win over PUC-B and 17-15, 15-11 win against SWC to finish Group A runners up.

In the junior boys' regu competition that also began today, YAWA-A, Singjamei, SWC-B and SWC-A, Hiyanglam scored two league stage wins respectively.

In the Group A competition, YAWA-A defeated IMSUC-Ba 15-11, 15-11 for the first win and sealed a 12-15, 15-8, 15-9 win over PUC-A for the second victory.

Meanwhile, SWC-B defeated IMSUC-B 15-5, 15-11 for the first win before beating HUDIC 15-12, 15-11 for the second win on the trot.

Earlier in the day, HUDIC won 15-8, 15-9 against PUC-A in the Group A opener.

Meanwhile in the Group B matches, SWC-A beat IMSUC-A 15-12, 15-9 for the first win before beating YAWA-B 15-11, 15-12 as SAIRC eased past PUC-B 15-2, 15-3; IMSUC-A beat SAIRC 15-10, 15-8 and PUC-B edged past YAWA-B 10-15, 15-8, 15-9 .

Mini Boys and Girls Regu Event

The regu event for both the mini boys and girls also started today at IMSUC ground.

In the Group A matches of the 19-team boys tournament, YAWA-A beat ALSA 15-12, 15-6 before FUC beat CYLC 15-13, 10-15, 17-16 ; YAWA-A beat IMSUC-B 15-8, 15-6 and ALSA beat FUC 15-6, 15-7 .

In Group B matches, HUDIC-A beat IMSUC-A 15-5, 15-7 before YASTA-A beat WAC 15-6, 15-8; SWC-B beat IMSUC-A 15-11, 15-10 .

In Group C matches, SWC-A beat YAWA-B 15-13, 15-13; YUC beat YASTA-B 17-15, 15-7 and PUC-B beat SWC-A 15-13, 15-8 .

In Group D matches, HUDIC-B beat PUC-A 16-17, 17-16, 15-5 as YAWA-C beat SEDO 9-15, 15-12, 15-12 and HUDIC-B beat YAWA-C 15-11, 15-5 .

Meanwhile in the 14-team girls regu competition, as many as 14 matches were completed.

HUDIC-A beat YAWA-B 15-3, 15-0; YASTA-B earned a walkover win against PUC-B; YAWA-B edge YASTA-B 15-12, 15-8 and HUDIC-A beat YASTA-B 15-5, 15-7 in Group A matches.

Meanwhile in the Group B matches, PUC beat IMSUC-B 15-13, 15-5 before SWC-A beat IMSUC-B 10-15, 15-9, 15-8 and PUC-A 7-15, 15-12, 15-12 for two of two wins.

The day also saw YASTA-A beat YAWA-A 15-5, 5-15, 15-12, YAWA-A beat OLYC 15-4, 15-1; SWC-C beat FUC 15-3, 15-17, 17-14; YASTA-A beat OLYC 15-2, 15-4; IMSUC-A beat FUC 15-12, 15-5 and YAWA-A beat SWC-B 15-9, 17-14 .

Both the championships will continue tomorrow.
