Five teams notch up big wins on Day 2 of State Level JN Hockey Tournament

Imphal, August 22 2024: Five teams delivered decisive wins on the second day of the State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2024 for U-15 boys and U-17 boys & girls.

Iramdam Maheikol (Langmeidong, Kakching) started the day with an 8-0 thrashing of Jai Hind High School (Mantripukhri, Imphal East) in their encounter in the U-17 girls' event.

In the U-17 boys' match, UNACCO School (Imphal West) handed out a crushing 15-1 defeat to Jai Hind High School (Mantripukhri, Imphal East) .

Wahengbam Paikhomba, I Rohit Singh and N Gerir Singh each scored four goals while M Thoiba Meitei netted a treble in UNACCO's emphatic win.

Jai Hind School's consolation goal was scored by Aryan Pangambam.

In the U-15 boy's group, Lalpani Govt High School (Jiribam) romped to an 8-0 triumph over TG English School (Bishnupur), while Five Star English High School (Thoubal) cruised to a 7-2 win over to Jai Hind High School (Mantripukhri, Imphal East).

Boynao M scored five goals in Jiribam's 8-0 hammering of Bishnupur as teammate Maibam Manimatum contributed a double and Vishal W added one for the winning side.

On the other hand, S Telson Singh and Dhanajit RK each netted twice in Thoubal boys' 7-2 victory over Bishnupur.

Ng Pritam Meitei, Th Abinash Singh and Th Wanglen also got their names on the scoresheet for the Thoubal squad.

Later in the day, Iramdam Maheikol (Langmeidong, Kakching) eased past Five Star English High School (Thoubal) 7-0 in the other U-17 girls' match.

Kh Shakhenbi led the rout with a hat-trick while N Shakiran, Nameirakpam Malem, Jerina Chongtham and Aobijam Silky contributed one goal apiece.
