Model beat REYS in Elite Tournament

Model (Singjamei) got the better of REYS (Khwai Nagamapal) by 35 runs in Saturday's fixture of the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Electing to bat, Model were all out for 169 in 38.3 overs.
The Singjamei side's total was built on M Langlonyamba Singh's unbeaten knock of 78 off 101 balls and a decent contribution from Yumnam Karnajit (35).Wahengbam Somorjit (15) and Somorjit Salam (14) were other run-getters in the innings.
Model then needed 32.4 overs to bowl out REYS who managed 134 in their run chase.
Sjayanta (39), Mintu Chandra (19), Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (14 not out) and Yungkham Romario Roy (14) were the batters who got into double digits in their unsuccessful chase.
Wahengbam Somorjit turned out to be the chief destroyer for Model with five wickets, followed by Somorjit Salam who claimed three scalps as Dibak Naorem did his bit with two wickets to steer their side to a 30-run victory.
Earlier, Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam picked up three wickets, Yungkham Romario and Robertson Laishram took two each, and Alfred Hmar and Mintu Chandra got one each for REYS.
Wahengbam Somorjit, who captured five wickets and scored 15 runs, walked away with the man-of-the-match trophy.
