8 Bn CRPF and 129 Bn CRPF to organise District-Level Football Tournaments

Imphal, October 07 2026: The 8 Bn and 129 Bn, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will organise District-Level Football Tournaments in Bishnupur and Churachandpur respectively.

The tournament for Bishnupur district will be held from October 9 to 12 at Police Line Football Ground, Bishnupur.

The tournament will be held in three categories - Under-18 Boys, Under-18 Girls and Open Category, said a press release issued by 8 Bn CRPF in this regard.

Teams from schools, colleges, football and sports clubs, government and private departments and other civilian sports organisations are invited to participate, it said.

The opening ceremony will be held on October 9 at Parade Ground, Police Line, Bishnupur in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur and MLA, Bishnupur as guests.

Attractive prizes will be awarded to top teams.

The winner will receive Rs 10,000, first runner-up Rs 6,000, second runner-up Rs 4,000 and 4th position Rs 2,000 as consolation prize, it said.

All participating players will receive certificates and T-shirts, while medals will be awarded to the top teams.The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and community harmony among youth, it said.

The 129 Bn will meanwhile organise the tournament for U18 men at Peace Ground, Tuibong and Lamka Public Ground in Churachandpur district from October 10 under SPANDAN initiative.

The tournament carries a cash prize of Rs 30,000 for the winners; Rs 20,000 for the runners up and Rs 10,000 for the third place teams besides other individual prizes.
