Inter school sports meet-2024 concludes; Saklim School crowned football champions

Senapati District Inter-School Sports Meet, 2024 concluded on a high note on Wednesday.
Different games including football for boys, volleyball for boys & girls and athletic events like long jump, high jump and shot put were played during the sports meet that began on August 3 at Senapati Outdoor Stadium.
The valedictory program was graced by Mamoni Doley, DC, Senapati as the chief guest and Adahrii Maheo, CEO, ADC, Senapati as the guest of honour respectively.
Both the dignitaries lauded the initiative of the organiser to encourage and still sporting spirit in young students through the sports meet.
They also wished the students to achieve more in days to come and represent India at biggest sporting events such as Olympics and bring fame to the district, State and the Nation.
They also felicitated winners in different sporting event with trophies and certificates.
Saklim High School emerged football champions of the sports meet as Mt Everest school finished runners up..
Savio High School, Tungjoy were able to seal the girls' volleyball title beating Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya, Bendramai in the final while Rosary High School, Purul sealed the boys' volleyball title defeating St Xavier's School, Makhan in the title clash.
Thohrii Marine of DBS, Senapati; Chamwiliu Chawang of Mt Everest and Ramela of Samaritan Public School made the top three finishes in the girls' long jump event as Lungring of Saklim School finished first, Sujeet Gupta of Mt Zion and Ranuba Benjamin of Mt Carmel Academy finished second and Jimmy of Bethany School finished third in the boys' competition.
Liya Moktan of Bethany School, N Asayia of St Xavier School and Chamwiliu Chawang of Mt Everest bagged top three places in the girls' high jump competition as Th Khole of Mt Carmel, Ngulminlun Chongloi of Bethany School and Michael of Mave School finished first, second and third in the boys' event.
In the girls' shot put competition, Sabina Rai of Saklim School, Kasane of Mt Carmel and Athiphro Kholi of Bethany school made top three finishes as Jimmy of Bethany School finished first, Mapoiying of NSCBAV, Bendramai finished second and Pungdi Alves finished third in the boys' competition.
