Four players lead on Day 2 of Inter-School Chess Tournament

Imphal, July 07 2024: Four players secured six points after four rounds on the second day of the 1st DCA Inter-School Chess Tournament on Sunday.

Dayanand Thoudam of Shishu Nistha Niketan, Lemba Sougaijam of Ramakhrishna Mission, Kh Nowboy of SL Arena of Learning, Nungshithoi of Kendriya Vidyalaya (Langjing) led the scoreboard with six points apiece.

Dayanand beat Brainson Haobam of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lemba outdid Nidia Sougaijam of Heritage Convent, Nowboy beat Khuman Einstein of RM School, and Nunghshithoi got the better of Tomthin Yumnam of Pitambara English School.

On the other hand, Williamba Moirangthem of KMS Takyel and Meikam Boss of Pitambara English School (Kwakeithel) each scored five and a half points after four rounds, bringing them closer to the leading quartet.

The third and final day of the tournament on Monday will feature three rounds.
