KRYPSA edge AR in thrilling State Polo Tournament opener

Imphal, March 05 2025: In a pulsating start to the 37th edition of the N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2025, H Muhindro's heroics propelled KRYPSA Team-A to a dramatic 5-4 victory over a tenacious AR Team-B at Mapal Kangjeibung (Imphal Pologround) on Wednesday.

The match culminated in a fifth-chukker decider.

Muhindro announced his dominance early, slicing through AR Team-B's defence to secure a 1-0 lead for KRYPSA in the opening chukker.

Though AR Team-B's T Vasha levelled the score with a swift counterattack in the second chukker, Muiiindro swiftly reclaimed control, restoring KRYPSA's advantage with a clinical strike.

The third chukker saw KRYPSA surge ahead as Muhindro completed his hat-trick with a masterful display of horsemanship, while teammate W Rupa capitalised on a defensive lapse to extend the lead to 4-1 .

AR Team-B's Md Waji narrowed, keeping his side within reach at 4-2 .

Undeterred, AR Team-B mounted a stirring resurgence in the fourth chukker.

S Mangalsana ignited hope with a thunderous drive, and BK Barman's precision strike made it all square at 4-4, sending the match into a nerve-wracking fifth chukker.

With tension soaring, KRYPSA's N Alex Mangang emerged as the late-game hero, intercepting a loose ball and launching a blistering solo run to slot home the winner, crushing AR Team-B's hopes and sealing a 5-4 triumph for his side.
