Manipur record 4th win on the trot at 15th Hockey India Sub-jr National Championship

Imphal, August 01 2025: Manipur continued their unstoppable run in the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men's National Championship 2025 (Division B), delivering a commanding 6-0 thrashing of Himachal Pradesh on the tournament's fifth day.

The emphatic win marks Manipur's fourth consecutive victory.

The scoring began early when Ningombam Gerik fired Manipur ahead in just the 4th minute, setting the tone for a one-sided affair.

Himachal Pradesh struggled to contain Manipur's relentless attacks, and the lead was doubled when Manimatum Maibam found the net in the 37th minute.

Manipur wasted no time in extending their dominance, with Konthoujam Sanjit Singh slotting home in the 41st minute to make it 3-0 .

Gerik then added his second goal of the match, further widening the gap to 4-0.The final flourish came from Saikhom Nishi, who showcased his clinical finishing with a rapid brace - finding the net in the 56th and 58th minutes - to complete the rout.

Himachal Pradesh's defence had no answer to Manipur's attacking prowess, as the state side cruised to another emphatic win.

With this victory, Manipur maintain their perfect record in the competition, having secured 12 points from their four matches so far.
